C&S Duct
C&S Duct stands for Cleat and S-Slip Duct, which is a type of rectangular sheet metal duct used in HVAC systems. It gets its name from the two types of joints used to assemble the duct sections:
“C” Cleat (also called Channel Cleat)
“S” Cleat (also called Slip Cleat)
This method allows for quick and secure joining of duct segments without welding or flanges, making it a cost-effective and efficient solution, especially for medium- and low-pressure ventilation systems.

How C&S Duct Works
- S-Cleat (Slip): A flat, S-shaped metal strip that slips over the edges of the duct to hold two sections together.
- C-Cleat (Channel): A U-shaped channel that goes over the top and bottom of the duct to lock everything in place.
- The cleats are usually hammered into position and may be secured further with screws or sealant.
